Very rummy, very yummy!
There was serious business underway at Arvida Peninsula Club retirement community recently - ice cream taste testing.
And not just any flavour, but Much Moore Ice Cream Company’s much‑loved Rum & Raisin, back by popular demand. A group of residents from the Stanmore Bay village happily took on the important role of official tasters, spoons at the ready. Safe to say… it did not disappoint. In fact, it was an instant crowd favourite.
For Sandra Smith, it was her first ever official ice cream tasting assignment, and she summed it up perfectly with a short but enthusiastic review: “Yummy yummy, very rummy.”
Sandra says she’s always had a soft spot for ice cream. “Years ago they had a lime green ice cream in Christchurch. We’d get some from the shop as a treat,” she recalls.
The group agreed the flavour struck just the right balance, with a good hit of rum flavour and plenty of fruit. Maggie Luscombe, a fan of everything from hokey pokey to pistachio and strawberry, was pleasantly surprised. “I like any flavour that’s really tasty. I must say, I’ve never had rum & raisin before and this really is lovely,” she says.
The verdict? A delicious success
